Home School
Do you use a charter or go on your own. That is the question.
I have been home schooling for 1 year now. Well I should say I have been officially home schooling for a 1 year now. We are using a charter. It is nice to have the budget of a charter school Although I don't like having to answer to a CT. I would rather do what I want. Let cook some cookies and call that science and math. Let go to the library and call the community helpers and English. You really have now way of measuring that. I measure it by the memories we are creating. I have 2 boys and they love exploring our yard with magnify glasses. What better way to learn than to let it happen naturally. That is my pondering thought for today.

The pumpking patch

The pumpkin patch. They boys had a great time. Owen was so proud of his little half rotten green pumpkin. Yes we bought a green pumpkin Caden found the biggest one he could carry. It took the kids 5 min to find the perfect pumpkin. Tim on the other hand is a pumpkin carving man. It took him a little longer to find the pumpkin that would display his perfect design. We had a great time.

BUGS
We decided to home school this year. It was so hard in the beginning. But as time goes on I think we are getting the hang of it. Home school is nice because when Caden has a off day or is sleepy we can take is slow. There are some days he is right on top of everything and gets lots of work done. It so neat to hear him ask to do certian work. He wants to do more more more...some days that is.
Owen just celbrated his 3rd birthday. My baby is 3. =( They grow so fast. His food allergies are doing much better. We say the allergist yesterday. Owen is over his milk allergie and the nut allergie is very slight. Eggs however are still kind of high. He can tollrate eggs in things like birthday cake and cookies, pankcakes but not any more than that.

Camping Fun

Our HFG went camping this weekend. My kids had a BLAST! The loved every minute of the out doors. They explored so much. They got so dirty even their tears were dirty. I am so thankful they were able to do that. We came home a day early because I got cold. I could not go another night with out sleep from being cold. We turned on the car heater and I started crying because I was finally getting warm. Aside from being cold we all had a wonderful time.

There are days
There are days when I feel
The best of me is ready to begin
Then there days when I feel
I'm letting go and soaring on the wind
Cause I've learned in laughter or in pain
How to survive
CHORUS
I get on my knees
I get on my knees
There I am before the lord
That changes me
See I don't know how
But there's power
When I'm on my knees
I can be in a crowd
Or by myself almost anywhere
When I feel there's a need
To talk with God He is Emmanuel
When I close my eyes
No darkness there
There's only light
I get on my knees
I get on my knees
there I am before the lord
that changes me
See I don't know how but there's power
In the blue skies
And in midnight
When I'm on my knees
CHORUS

A Prayer
by Katherine Kehler
Lord, little by little You are getting through my befuddled mind to teach me another practical concept about living a life pleasing to You.
Lord Jesus, I know You said that in this world we would have troubles, but for some reason, I really thought there would be fewer problems as I aged. That I would become wiser. But life becomes more complicated.
I wonder, Lord, is it because You need to constantly remind us that this earth is not our home…that we are heaven bound?
So many times I forget that people, circumstances or things cannot give me happiness; only You can. I realize now that my discouragement can be because of the lack of trusting You.
This day, Lord, I pray that You will enable me to trust You each time a problem arises. Whenever I get stressed, remind me to turn my eyes on You and Your sufficiency.
My help comes from You, Lord.
Amen.

To God be the glory!
© 1971 Bud John Songs, Inc.
For the things You have done for me,
Things so undeserved,
Yet You gave to prove Your love for me.
The voices of a million angels
Could not express my gratitude.
All that I am and ever hope to be,
I owe it all to Thee.
To God be the glory,
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done.
With His blood He has saved me,
With His power He has raised me,
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done.
Let it be pleasing, Lord, to Thee,
And if I gain any praise,
Let it go to Calvary.
With His blood He has saved me,
With His power He has raised me,
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done.
To God be the glory,
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done.
With His blood He has saved me,
With His power He has raised me,
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done.

Adventures in mommy hood

I woke up early this morning to my two year old throwing a fit. After getting through that by the grace of God I mopped my kitchen floor. Which had last nights dinner dried on it. The Children peacefully finished their breakfast and took the bowls to the dishwasher. My two year old spilled he cereal bowl all over the newly mopped kitchen floor. After that I prayed for patients, strength and a loving attitude. As if timing was everything My two year old walks out of the play room with poop in his hand. yes poop in his hand. so we walk to the bathroom. The poop falls out of his pants and then of course he steps in it. I scrubbed the bathroom floor. Which by the way I cleaned the bathroom last night while the children where in the bath. So I cleaned it again. Changing my sons clothes for the third time today. and it is only 9am.
The last couple of days have be very peaceful. God has been so good to give me a 2 day break. God is great. He gives us what we need when we need it. All I need to do is to depend on Him when it time to scrub the floor for the third time this today.
As my day went on the children quited down climbed into bed with each other are read books it was very sweet. It was the break. I need in my day. The Lord is so good!

Spring

I was sweeping my front porch today. I was reminded of how beautiful the day is. The birds are singing the flowers are blooming. The sweet smell of spring is in the air. What a awesome God we serve. He Gives us these beautiful things to enjoy. God is good! I write this as my children are happily playing in the other room. Thank you Jesus for this peaceful moment in time.

T-ball mom
Owen's new favorite term is "do it by myself".
The Lord is teaching me patients through my lovely little blessings. The Lord really is giving me joy in the things I do. The dishes and the messes and the messes and the messes and the laundry day after day after day does get old. God is showing me this is what I am called to do, I count it a blessing to be able to do these things. I pray daily the Christ would allow me to see the joy and blessings in laundry and dishes and messes.
I am reading a book called Don't Make Me Count To Three. By Ginger Plowman. It is a good book. It is nice to be reminded of what God has called me to do. It is also nice to be reminded that I am not alone when it feels locking my self in the bathroom and taking a long bubble bath. God has called me to clean up messes, do laundry and wipe nose's. I pray that I would not lose focus of that.

T-Ball

Today was Caden's first day of T-Ball. Wow he is a big boy now! Yet, at the same time he is so little. Tim is coaching T-ball. The kids think he is the coolest person in the world. Owen brought his glove to practice. He wants to play. He cried when we had to take him off the field. He really wants to be a big boy.
God has been so gracious to us. Owen is still has food allergies, but the are much better. He can have all dairy now. We have to limit his intake of egg and make sure he is only getting it in small quantities. We are so thankful God is allowing him to get over his food allergies.
We have had a few bumps in the road the last 5 years, But God has been so gracious to see us through it and given us the wisdom to do what needed to be done.
God is great and worthy to be praised!
